Kiosk Best Practices

With a little effort up-front, kiosks can become
autonomous virtual "Marketing & Sales Specialists".

BUILDER'S ?SALES REP? TRAINING
Make an appointment with the builder?s sales reps for training on how to leverage the kiosk (suggestion: early morning before their customers arrive). This is easily done by rebooting the kiosk and then selecting ?Builder?s Sales People? at the opening screen. Go to this screenand read it out-loud with them. Answer questions. Give them some donuts. Make friends, influence people, sell upgrades.

SALESPERSON NOTEBOOK
Along with each kiosk the builder?s sales rep should be given a notebook that has all the details for each upgrade. This way if a customer has a question regarding a certain upgrade the Salesperson then has the information at their fingertips to answer them. This turns every Builder?s Sales Person into an HVAC sales person. Congratulations: you just increased your sales force by a factor of 20 and it cost you nothing except a little effort up-front and some donuts!

FOLLOW UP
Check back frequently to ask how things are going, to make sure they have an updated notebook, and whether they?d like the application changed ? we can make changes like adding or removing items on a contractual programming basis.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Kiosks should be placed in a high traffic area. Put a kiosk in every major new home development, where the customer can see it as they walk in.

USE IT TO BECOME A PREFFERED CONTRACTOR / SUPPLIER
A kiosk should be carted around from builder to builder to show builders what is available to them if they choose YOU instead of the competition.

PROVIDE PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP
The Builder will utilize it if they feel they have ownership. For just $99 we?ll add a custom 3D logo for the builder that spins in the middle of the screen. For an additional $30 we?ll create an informational page that will provide more information about the builder and/or HVAC contractor (the visitor accesses that page by selecting the spinning 3D logo).

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
A spare kiosk should be available for Home Shows and other events. Kiosks work great in Malls and other public locations. People are naturally attracted to them whereas they are naturally resistant to human sales reps.

WIN AWARDS
Enter the kiosk in Builder Association Events/Contests to publish the rewards of being a York partner.
